Job Objectives: Assisists the District's transportation Director in operations and activities in a manner which promotes safety and efficiency.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:   Assists with supervision, oversees and manages a district transportation program and staff associated with it. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the district’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities may include assisting with interviewing, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common academic/transportation/mechancial journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to effectively present information to district leaders, public groups, and/or boards of education.

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to apply intermediate mathematical concepts. 

     

    REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

     

    OTHER SKILLS/EXPECTATIONS:  Develops cooperative and functional relationships with district staff and the public; maintains consistent and punctual attendance; insures job responsibilities are met competently and within established deadlines.
